Congratulations to Dr. Nir Sapir and his PhD student Yosef Kiat for their recent publication in Nature Communications. Using data from ten natural history collections, they discovered that the extent of the post-juvenile moult has increased significantly over the last 212 years (1805–2016), a trend that is positively correlated with the temperature of the environment. Moreover, they saw that in some species, females reacted differently than male to the environmental change, thus this demonstrates different biological responses to climate warming by different phenotypes.
